Thomas Chavez

Senior Vice President – Managing Director

Thomas Chavez is senior vice president and managing director of RCG AI. Prior to launching RCG AI, Mr. Chavez was a member of the Rosenthal Collins Group Agricultural Trading Division where he worked for 15 years as a livestock and grain broker. 

From 1996 to 2002 he served as president of TAC Risk Management, Inc., a commodity trading advisor specializing in the agricultural futures and options markets. 

In 2003, Mr. Chavez began working with the lead selling group for the funds that track the Rogers International Commodity Index. That development led to his current business focus on the development of alternative investment products and strategies. He is a graduate of DePaul University in Chicago, Illinois and holds series 3, series 63 and 22 licenses.

Scott R. Baldwin

Executive Vice President – Business Development and Research

Mr. Baldwin has been associated with the securities and futures industry since 1981. Mr. Baldwin recently joined RCG AI as Executive Vice-President in charge of business development and research. He has been instrumental in the creation, formation and coordination of proprietary and client driven commodity investment solutions, as well as the cultivation and oversight of partner offices and affiliate relationships. Mr. Baldwin is a member of the executive investment committee, which researches, selects, and allocates assets to trading advisors for customer and firm sponsored futures products. Mr. Baldwin’s focus has included and is active in administration, risk management, and syndication as the general partner for private and public partnerships.

Before joining RCG AI, Mr. Baldwin became and independent member of the CBOT in 1984 and founded a brokerage execution and consulting business. His firm assisted banks, fund managers, primary dealers and individual traders with trading and hedging strategies.

In 1997, he founded SRB Capital Management, a registered National Futures Association Independent Introducing Broker and Commodity Pool Operator, which currently serves as the general partner of a managed futures fund.
 
Mr. Baldwin also has served as a Director and consultant to private investment funds and is a licensed FINRA securities representative and registered NFA principal.

James Green

Vice President – Business Development

James Green is vice president and director of business development at RCG AI. He has deep roots in the field of commodities, having grown up on a grain and livestock farm in Henderson County, Illinois. 

Mr. Green began his career in 1975 as a district sales manager for DeKalb Ag Research in Charleston, Illinois.  In 1979 he was invited to join Heinold Commodities, Inc., and became regional manager for the Central U.S. in 1981.

In 1985 he joined Merchants Trading and served as their national sales director before moving on to his current role as manager of the Rosenthal Collins Group Agricultural Trading Division.

Mr. Green is concurrently serving as the president of Rosetta Capital Management, LLC, a commodity trading advisor that specializes in the livestock and grain markets. He is a 1975 graduate of Western Illinois University with a B.S. in Finance, and holds Series 3, 4, 7, 23 and 63 licenses.

Scott Thompson

Senior Consultant

Scott Thompson is a senior consultant at RCG AI.  Mr. Thompson’s career in the futures industry began in 1981 at Goldman Sachs.  In eight years at Goldman Sachs, as a member of the Chicago Mercantile Exchange, his primary area of concentration was foreign exchange, heading the FX division.

In 1989 he joined Shearson Lehmann’s Euro Dollar group before moving on to Chase Futures in 1992.  As second vice president at Chase, he was instrumental in developing an in-house foreign exchange division.

Mr. Thompson joined Rosenthal Collins Group, LLC in 1995, establishing a foreign exchange division, and is concurrently serving as a senior consultant at RCG AI.  He is a 1978 graduate of the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign and holds a Series 3 NFA license.
